  3.      CGI PerForm is a command language interpreter for
  4. Common Gateway Interface (CGI) application design, or
  5. in other words, a CGI scripting language. It gives the
  6. user a set of commands which can be used to build simple
  7. or advanced World Wide Web (WWW) CGI applications without
  8. the need for tedious programming, compiling and debugging.
  9. Sophisticated interactive WWW pages can be created without
  10. compromising system security, taxing system resources or
  11. having to overcome significant learning curves. The
  12. distribution archive includes ready-to-use examples that
  13. allow a web site administrator to quickly and easily
  14. implement a guest comment book, E-mail feedback form, an
  15. online calendar of events, and a shopping cart application.

  22. connectivity between your web server and ODBC databases
  23. like MS SQL Server 6.0. It also contains all the features
  24. standard to CGI PerForm.

  27. Please note that there is a Secure version and an Insecure
  28. version. The Secure version forces all path names to be
  29. relative to the current directory, preventing users from
  30. referencing files unless they are in the current directory
  31. or one of its subdirectories. This keeps users from
  32. accessing directories they should not have access to.
